Relative Strength of the Dollar

This year, the U.S. dollar made a substantial move upward, increasing holders' relative spending power. If we zoom out, the U.S. dollar is now at levels not seen since the early 2000s.

The increased purchasing power might get you a better price on fish-and-chip across the pond. However, as U.S.-based investors, a rising U.S. dollar can be a headwind for international investments; conversely, a declining U.S. dollar can be favorable as it can increase the performance of international investments.
