246 Years Later

As we head into this extended summer weekend, we reflect on this great nation's ideals and celebrate our independence. "Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." America's founding fathers wrote this phrase into the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

246 years later, we are at the mid-point of 2022. We'll check in on markets and housing, then wish you well into the holiday weekend.

The stock market, broadly, has declined by about 20% this year. Breaching the 20% decline threshold is typically viewed as a bear market. Our focus remains on finding opportunities, rebalancing portfolios, and tax loss swapping where appropriate to reduce future tax implications.

30-year mortgage interest rates have been on the rise this year, currently hovering around 5.7%. This is a significant increase over the 2.7% level available late last year.

Whether you are grilling out at home, spending time on the water, or enjoying the great outdoors on this holiday, we hope you have a safe and satisfying 4th of July weekend.
