Announcing Sharon Calhoun as Managing Director
Over the past year, I have followed the advice I have been giving my whole career: Prepare for what is next.
It is time to acknowledge what has been in place for some time. I have moved to be less involved in the firm's day-to-day leadership, having those responsibilities managed by our long-tenured leadership team.
I am pleased to announce that Sharon Calhoun has accepted the role of CEO and Managing Director of Vector Wealth Management. In my life, I have had the good fortune to work with many professionals committed to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence. Among that group, none has more passion for that high standard than Sharon. She has earned a Master of Science in Financial Services, multiple designations, and currently sits on the national board for the Council of Examinations for Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.,* which develops exams and standards for the financial services industry.
For over two decades, Sharon has worked to advance how we serve you; I know she will continue to do this in her new CEO role and serve Vector's clients as a Senior Wealth Advisor.
Also, I am excited to announce a very specific role that has yet to be acknowledged, even though it has existed. That is the role of the Chief Operating Officer. I have asked Jason Ranallo to formally step into the COO role, a position he has played for us for some time.
In the early days of Vector, as founder, much of the operational work to create form around how we function was done by me. Over the last several years, Jason has taken more of that responsibility. I have great confidence in his work. Jason will also continue on as the Director of Portfolio Management.
Early in the formation of Vector, we split the specific disciplines of advisors, portfolio management, advanced planning, and client services, allowing each of our staff to pursue a path in accordance with skills and interests. With Sharon as the Managing Director and Jason as the Chief Operating Officer, it is a similar separation of skill sets to lead the Vector team and serve clients moving forward.
As for me, I have stepped into the role of Chairman and will continue to be a part of the leadership team, supporting this generation of leaders. Although my role will narrow, I will continue to do what I love; serve as a trusted advisor.
There's nothing more that I could say or that speaks more to my heart than the trust that I place in Sharon and Jason to be stewards of the firm. This confidence allows me to step back, knowing that you are in good hands.
